Is the coffee shop separated from the cat cafe? There won’t be cats walking on the food prep tables, will there?

Our cat cafe lounge is absolutely separated from our coffee shop. No cats will be helping making your coffee or food! Although we love our kitties, we don’t think they would be good chefs anyway!

If you are not a cat lover, you do not have to go into the cat cafe lounge, you can choose to just enjoy your cup of joe, a bagel sandwich, or whatever you prefer in our coffee shop that is directly next door to the cat cafe lounge.

You must purchase your ticket or check-in if you reserved a spot online at the register in the coffee shop. To get to the cat cafe from the coffee shop, you walk out our exit-only door on the Nebraska St. side of the building, and head directly to the right to the next storefront and you will be greeted by a staff member to explain some rules to you. Then you’re free to play and cuddle the kitties!

Can I bring my own cats into the cafe?

At this time, no. Due to some rules and regulations and due to not being a shelter, we can only have cats in our cafe that are provided by the Siouxland Humane Society. Customers will not be able to bring their own cats or pets from their home, and customers will not be able to bring in stray cats to put up for adoption.

If you find a stray cat or need to put a cat up for adoption, please contact the Siouxland Humane Society, Noah’s Hope, or Siouxland Animal Control, as we will unfortunately not be able to assist with rescuing or surrendering cats.

Are all the cats in the cafe up for adoption?

Yes! You can come into the cafe to learn more about the cats and meet them up-close. If you are interested in bringing a kitty home, you can head over to the Siouxland Humane Society down the road to fill out some paperwork, then come back to our cafe to pick your new kitty up!

Are the cats allowed in the coffee shop?

No. No cats or pets other than certified service animals can be let into our coffee shop. They have to remain separate to keep our food and beverages safe.

Can we bring our coffee and beverages into the cat cafe lounge?

Yes. You may bring your drinks that you purchase in the Coffee & Purrs coffee shop with you into the cat cafe lounge room, but you may NOT bring any food or any outside beverages to keep our kitties safe.

Why is there an entry fee to see the kitties?

Our cat cafe is a unique experience that shelters do not usually provide. We are not a non-profit business, so we do not receive funding, cash donations, or any financial assistance. In order to take care of our 10-15 kitties we have in our cafe, we require an entry fee of $14/adult and $9/kid 10 and under. All the proceeds from our entry fees go right back into the cats; it pays for their food, litter, water, heat/A/C, and the best service from our trained kitty caretakers.

Do you accept walk-ins?

If we are open in the cat cafe AND coffee shop, and we have some available spots for your party, YES! If only the cat cafe is open and the coffee shop is closed, no, you will have to reserve your spot online in advance. Since we have a limited occupancy, It’s always recommended you book your spot online in advance because we are never able to guarantee we will have enough spots available for your entire party.

What does parking look like at the cafe?

On both sides of out coffee shop (on both Nebraska St., and 5th St.), there is metered street parking. According to the city, the hours you must plug the meter are from 8am-5pm Monday-Friday. Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, you do not have to pay. The metered parking has time limits listed on the meter. There is also a parking garage (the one you enter on 6th st and that is connected to the Martin Luther Transportation Center). You can park in the garage for cheaper, and you do not have to worry about a time limit.

What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

Rescheduling is always the best option as there is no fee for a reschedule. You can reschedule up to 60 days in the future.

If a customer must cancel their appointment, this is Coffee & Purrs official and strict policy. Customers can cancel their appointment in-person, over the phone, or from their confirmation email that was sent to them when the appointment was booked and paid for.

If an appointment is cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment, a cancellation fee of $5/person will occur. If an appointment is cancelled within 2 hours of their scheduled their appointment, the customer will not quality for a refund. Our system does not automatically refund customers when an appointment is cancelled, so to request a refund, please email hello@coffeeandpurrs.co and someone will get back to the customer within 3-5 business days. A full refund is not eligible for appointments cancelled within the 24 hour limit. A full refund may be available for appointments cancelled outside of the 24 hour time limit. Customers must request a refund via email within 5 days after they cancelled their appointment to qualify for a full refund/partial refund. If a customer cancels their appointment directly from their confirmation email, the customer must make sure they cancel all the appointments in their party (i.e. they will know if all appointments have been cancelled if they receive a cancellation confirmation email for every person they booked for).
