It all started when…

The owner, Megan Thompson, fell in love with cats when she was little. Megan Thompson is the sole owner and creator of Coffee & Purrs LLC. Of course Megan has always had a dream of helping all the stray kitties in the world find a home and to give them a good life, as she says “Cats are angels and they don’t deserve to be alone just like we as humans don’t”. If Megan could own all the cats in the world, we’re all pretty sure she would.

Coffee & Purrs is the first ever cat cafe in Sioux City, IA. We are open at 500 Nebraska St., Sioux City, IA 51101, with the cat cafe directly next to it at 504 Nebraska St., Sioux City, IA 51101. We are dedicated to creating a calming coffee shop environment for our customers to get their morning coffee, relax with friends, or work. Coffee & Purrs will offer free wifi to all customers. Our menu will consist of lattes, americanos, macchiatos, frappes, smoothies with the option to add protein, and food items such as bagels, muffins, and soup in the winter.

Coffee & Purrs is partnering with the Siouxland Humane Society in Sioux City. All the cats we have in the cat cafe will be adoptable through the Humane Society. Our mission is to help as many cats get adopted into safe and warm homes and also help take more cats off the streets. We normally have 10-15 cats in the cafe at all times.
